Graham’s The Family Dairy has secured a deal with Asda to supply three varieties of its new Skyr Pouches to more than 40 of the retailer’s stores in Scotland.

The Bridge of Allan-based firm, which says it is Scotland’s largest independent dairy, launched its range of Skyr – a cultured product native to Iceland – at the beginning of 2018, the first to be produced in Scotland. The pouches are available in passion fruit, mango and papaya, raspberry and superberry flavours.

The firm has been working with Asda in Scotland since 2001, and supplies 45 branded dairy products, as well as producing Asda’s own-brand cottage cheese in Scotland.

Graham’s The Family Dairy MD Robert Graham commented: “Skyr is our best-performing new product launch and continues to exceed all our expectations. This new pouch format for Skyr is in direct response to the growing customer demand for functional and healthy ‘on-the-go’ snack choices.

“Family values, innovation and product development are something we pride ourselves on – and we will continue to create delicious, nutritional and exceptional quality dairy products for customers. Always keen to hear and respond to our customer feedback, we hope they will be as excited about our new Skyr pouches as we are.”

Heather Turnbull, Asda’s regional buying manager Scotland, welcomed the retailer now selling the Skyr pouches, “which will join the extensive range of Graham’s Dairy lines on offer in our stores across Scotland”.

She added: “It is important to us as a business to provide customers with choice – products we know they want – and will fit into their lifestyles. We are very proud of our commitment to local suppliers and we know how much our customers value locally sourced produce – as well as being able to support Scottish farmers.”
